Charting design & development - a new fad
One thing I have noticed recently is that it is becoming increasingly popular to chart the process of a web project. People basically post information about what they are doing and how they are doing it - with various levels of detail. At the fully detailed end of the scale is Carson Workshops development of their new web application - Amigo. These guys are trying to give the full story of how they are developing their second web application and do this through video, images and traditional blog articles.
The more traditional sharing of the process is what the guys at iconfactory have done with a 6 stage animation that shows they are building a whole new site. This is more common as kind of countdown to a big launch.
We have a new site we will be launching soon for a company called Coull in Bristol. You can check out their current site here. We reckon it will be going live next week and we are pretty excited about it. Although it’s quite simple at the moment, both the guys at Coull and us have big plans for it. So watch this space!
This could be fun - maybe we will chart the process of our next project?
Well that’s enough for me, let us know if you see any other examples of charting a project process and we’ll add them to this article.
